Monday—“Play and Learn Group”, at the Early Intervention building, 80 Pearl Street, Hyannis, 9:30 am-11:00 am, January 9th-March 6th, (no class January 16th & February 20th), Miss Bambi & Miss Kristen

Join us for some exploration of toys, sensory materials, stories, songs, a snack, outdoor play (weather permitting) and creative crafts designed for learning. Children learn to play near and with each other, and to practice skills in preparation for preschool.  Appropriate for birth to five years old.

Monday—Infant-Toddler Playgroup, at Hyannis Public Library, 401 Main Street, 10:30 am-11:30 am, January 9th-February 27th (no class January 16th & February 20th), Miss Ally

An infant-toddler playgroup that focuses on the importance of learning through play. Come explore activities including sensory play, for children birth to age three.

Tuesday—“Once Upon a Time” A Children’s Playgroup, at the Early Intervention building, 80 Pearl Street, Hyannis, 12:30 pm-2:00 pm, (8-week-session), January 10th-February 28th, Miss Barbara & Miss Ally

Once Upon a Time’ Children’s Playgroup for 3-5 year olds, is an eight-week playgroup focusing on dramatic play of fairy tales, folk tales, and original stories.  Creative expression such as building a little pig’s brick house with boxes, making forest paths out of ribbons, designing costumes out of scarves, forming sound makers from organic objects, and creating treasure boxes from recycled materials for take home, are some of the joys of ‘Once Upon a Time.’ The series offers a closing demo performance to a small audience, and each child is to be gifted with a book, as a remembrance.

Tuesday–Long Pasture Wildlife Playgroup, 345 Bone Hill Road, Barnstable, 1:00 pm-2:00 pm, (8-week-session), January 10th-March 7th (no class February 21st),   Miss Liz (Long Pasture) & Miss Ellen

Designed for the older preschool child, this program provides a fun learning experience in nature. A Long Pasture Naturalist will guide the group through fun activities and themed learning experiences at the Long Pasture Wildlife Sanctuary, Barnstable.

Wednesday–FUN at the Conservatory! 2235 Iyannough Road, Route 132, West Barnstable (four week sessions)

Ballet Together: 9:30 am-10:45 am, February 1st– March 1st (no group February 22nd),  Miss Jane (Conservatory) & Miss Kristen

This Leap N Learn program is a great starting place for young dancers’ to “leap” into a full suite of technique classes at the Conservatory. Students learn basic French ballet vocabulary, stretching, creativity and musicality while having fun in a safe, nurturing environment. Story and snack time following class.  Appropriate for children three to five years of age.

Art Together:  9:30 am -10:45 am, March 8th– March 29th, Miss Nancy (Conservatory) & Miss Kristen

Watch your child’s small motor skills develop in this fun class for young children. Kid-friendly projects are  highlight the creative process of making art, exploring a wealth of non-toxic materials such as paints, glue, clay and drawing tools. New projects each week. Story and snack time following class.

Thursday—“A Playtime Circle for Infants and Mothers”, at the Early Intervention building, 80 Pearl Street, Hyannis, 12:00 pm-1:30 pm, (nine-week-session), January 5th-March 2nd, Miss Barbara & Miss Kristen

‘A Playtime Circle for Infants and Mothers’ is a nine-week exploration into the magical world of play-space of an infant’s environment.  As the infant and young child begin to experience the wonders of smell, taste, touch, sight, and sound, how do we as mothers enter into their experience with mutual awe?  Each of the nine weeks, the series will invite a playful adventure into the kinesthetic world of the senses and our imagination to rekindle our own child-self and to help us relate more deeply with our child. As a take-away for home, each mother will create a Baby Remembrance Journal out of recycled, expressive materials. Co-planning among group members for each week’s experience is part of this series’ approach to ‘invoking the creative Muses’!   Appropriate for Mothers with infants who are 3-12 months of age.

Thursday—Music and Movement, at Hyannis Public Library, 401 Main Street, 10:30 am -11:30 am, January 12th– March 2nd, Miss Ally

Join us for a music and movement group for children birth to five years of age. Come have fun and learn how music covers all areas of development.

Program registration is available online or by telephone and it is on a first come first serve basis.

Please note that some groups may be a priority for those who have not previously attended.
