CVS Caremark Awards $1,500 Grant for the Preschool Oral Health Initiative for the Uninsured and Underinsured
02/08/2010
Cape Cod Child Development is pleased to acknowledge CVS Caremark for their third-year grant support of the agency’s dental health clinic for preschool-aged children with little or no insurance coverage.
“Barriers to affordable dental care on the Cape prevent children from receiving the preventative and curative oral health care that they need,” stated the agency’s Director of Preschool/Head Start program, Mal Hughes. “We are pleased to receive support from the business community and particularly, CVS Caremark to help strengthen our oral health program for low-income families and their children.”
Cape Cod Child Development’s Preschool Oral Health Initiative for the Uninsured and Underinsured increases access to sufficient oral health care and education for preschool-aged children. By promoting basic screening, oral health instruction, preventative and curative dental care, and annual/biannual check-ups, the program continues to improve oral health care to young children who need it most.
“CVS Caremark Community Grants are an effective way for us to contribute to the success of communities where we do business,” said Jennifer Veilleux, Director of CVS Caremark Corporation. “We are proud to support the work that Cape Cod Child Development does in the community.”
